Bernard Nsokika Fonlon's Philosophy of Education: A Systemic Proposal
Abstract This study synthesizes the core socio-philosophical and educational tenets of Bernard Nsokika Fonlon as articulated in his foundational work, Challenge of Culture in Africa: From Restoration to Integration. It explores Fonlon's conceptualization of culture as human cultivation, the synthesis of the traditional African educational ideal (wir-la), and his critical deconstruction of colonial schooling models. Identifying an epistemic gap between theoretical post-colonial critique and modern applied institutional practice, this paper introduces the Bello Systemic Hybridization Model (BSHM), powered by the Cultural Adaptive Communication Framework (CACF). Drawing on systemic psychological coaching, critical pedagogy, structural conflict mediation, transactional analysis, and cross-cultural communication theory, this model operationalizes Fonlon's call for dynamic integration and deploys targeted methodologies derived from structural conflict resolution, leadership empowerment, and adaptive communication systems.
