The Golden Birthday Gift: A Coffee Bello Encounter with Prof. Dr. Bernd Schlüter

During his birthday journey to Prague, Bello experienced an unexpected yet meaningful encounter with Prof. Dr. Bernd Schlüter a distinguished German jurist and theologian over a cup of Coffee Bello Potsdam. What began as a simple coffee moment became a powerful exchange on ethics, entrepreneurship, and intercultural connection, symbolizing Coffee Bello’s mission to bridge Africa and Europe through sustainable, authentic coffee.

Honesty and Being Yourself Is Golden

Honesty and Being Yourself Is Golden

Entrepreneurship is often portrayed as a race for wealth or a sprint to success, but for me, it has always been about something deeper: honesty, values, and legacy. My journey has been shaped not just by business decisions but by a family tradition of resilience, faith, and enterprise—from my great-grandfather’s bamboo chairs to my parents’ teaching and coffee estates. These experiences planted the seeds of an entrepreneurial spirit grounded in authenticity. In my work today—whether writing books, nurturing Coffee Bello Potsdam, coaching, or investing—I hold onto a single guiding principle: stay true to myself and honest with others. Honesty builds trust, and trust is the foundation of any lasting success. Titles and numbers may fade, but what endures is the impact we create when we lead with integrity, offer value, and love the work we do.

Coffee BELLO Potsdam, A Journey of Gratitude and Belief

Coffee BELLO Potsdam, A Journey of Gratitude and Belief

In the pages of my diary this August, I reflect on a journey I never imagined would begin in Germany. While I had planned to launch my new book Two Cultures One Mind in the USA this fall, life took a different turn with the birth of Coffee BELLO Potsdam. What started as a vision has grown into a brand embraced by German coffee lovers for its aroma, quality, and taste. This path is not mine alone—it carries the prayers of my daughter, the wisdom of my parents, the legacy of my grandparents, and the memory of my late godfather who gave his life to coffee. With the dedication of my German partners, investors, and roasting master Mathias, I now stand as one of the first Africans to introduce coffee roasted in Germany in my own unique style. Books and coffee—two very different vessels, yet both serve the same purpose in my life: to inspire, to create awareness, and to share hope.

From “Crazy and Bold” to “COFFEE BELLO POTSDAM” A 19 Year Journey

From “Crazy and Bold” to “COFFEE BELLO POTSDAM” A 19 Year Journey

From a bold leap in 2006—founding a coffee company in Cameroon and negotiating in China—to roasting premium African beans in the heart of Germany, the COFFEE BELLO POTSDAM story is one of vision, grit, and global connection. Today, our beans, sourced from select African regions, are carefully drum-roasted in Potsdam to preserve their rich aroma and smooth finish. Stocked in major supermarkets and embraced by coffee lovers, COFFEE BELLO POTSDAM is more than a brand—it’s a testament to quality, authenticity, and the power of perseverance.

Coffee Bello: A Transcultural Model of Ethical Coffee Sourcing, Roasting, and Storytelling from Rwanda to Potsdam Germany.

Coffee Bello: A Transcultural Model of Ethical Coffee Sourcing, Roasting, and Storytelling from Rwanda to Potsdam Germany.

Coffee Bello is more than a cup of coffee — it’s a bridge between continents, cultures, and values. Rooted in the coffee-growing traditions of Africa and roasted with German precision in Potsdam, the brand partners directly with women-led cooperatives in Rwanda to source certified organic Arabica beans. These beans travel from the fertile highlands of Africa to the Probat drum roaster of master roaster Mathias, where craftsmanship transforms them into a smooth, full-bodied brew. Founded by Edward Dzerinyuy Bello, who grew up in a coffee-farming village in Cameroon, Coffee Bello is shaped by a philosophy of authenticity, respect, and passion — “Sei großartig. Sei du.” (Be great. Be yourself). Edward’s personal journey, coupled with his expertise in intercultural communication, infuses the brand with a unique narrative that celebrates African heritage while embracing German artisanal roasting. More than a beverage, Coffee Bello is a platform for ethical entrepreneurship, cultural storytelling, and community empowerment. Each sip reflects a commitment to fair trade, transparency, and sustainability — proof that a micro-brand can lead with values while delivering world-class quality.

Invisible Scars: Mental Health as the Unseen Crisis of the Anglophone Conflict in Cameroon

Invisible Scars: Mental Health as the Unseen Crisis of the Anglophone Conflict in Cameroon

he Anglophone crisis in Cameroon is often told in numbers—over 700,000 displaced, thousands injured or killed, and communities torn apart. Yet behind these stark statistics lies an invisible battlefield: the human mind. This article shines a light on the silent epidemic of psychological trauma that has seeped into homes, schools, markets, and even the diaspora. Drawing from professional experience as a systemic psychological coach, certified German mediator, and a native of Cameroon’s conflict-affected North West Region, the author uncovers how cultural norms, limited infrastructure, and entrenched stigma create a perfect storm of neglect. Through a blend of research, field observations, and lived narratives, this work calls for urgent policy reforms, culturally grounded interventions, and international solidarity to treat mental health not as a peripheral concern—but as a core element of peace building.
